OneCut ("the app") respects your privacy. All processing of the camera feed, photos, and face data happens 100% on your device and is never transmitted off the device. To keep the app free, the app shows a Google AdMob banner ad on the gallery screen, and it collects anonymous usage and diagnostics information that is not linked to your identity to improve quality.
1. Face Data
What face data the app collects: The app does not collect face data. When you take or retouch a selfie, Apple's Vision framework (on-device face-landmark detection) computes the position, contours, and landmark coordinates of the face in the photo entirely on your device.
How face data is used: This face geometry is used only to display real-time framing/angle guides and to apply the photo retouching you choose. It is not used for any other purpose.
Sharing with third parties: Face data is never shared with anyone. It is not passed to advertising or analytics providers.
Where face data is stored: Face geometry exists only in device memory while an image is being processed. The app has no server, so nothing is uploaded anywhere.
How long face data is retained: Face geometry is discarded immediately after the photo is processed and is never stored. The photos you take or retouch remain in the app's own storage until you delete them.
2. Information processed only on your device
Camera feed: Used for taking selfies and for real-time framing and angle guides. All analysis happens on your device, and the camera feed is never transmitted anywhere.
Photos you take or retouch: Stored in the app's own storage. A copy is added to your photo library only when you explicitly choose to save it.
Motion sensor data: Used only to measure the shooting angle (tilt/level) and is processed entirely on your device.
3. Advertising
To keep the app free, the app shows a Google AdMob banner ad at the bottom of the gallery (photo list) screen. There are no ads on the camera or editing screens. To serve ads, Google (a third party) may collect and use device identifiers, coarse location (IP-based), advertising data, and app usage/diagnostics data for purposes such as ad delivery, fraud prevention, and performance measurement.
OneCut is configured to serve non-personalized ads, does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, and does not track you across apps using the advertising identifier (IDFA). The camera feed, photos, and face data are never used for advertising.
To improve app quality, the app collects the following anonymous information. It is not linked to your identity and is not used for cross-app tracking.
Usage data (Google Firebase Analytics): Anonymous events such as screen views and feature usage, plus an anonymous per-install identifier. Used to understand usage flows and improve features.
Diagnostics (Sentry): Crash, error, and performance diagnostics. No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected; used to find and fix bugs.
5. Information we do not collect
Neither the app nor its advertising/analytics providers collect any of the following:
Photos, camera feed, or face data — these never leave your device
Account or login information (the app has no sign-up)
Precise location (GPS)
Contacts
Photo library reading — the app does not read your library; it only uses add (save) permission
6. Permissions
Camera: Taking selfies and real-time guides
Photo Library (add only): Only when saving a retouched photo
